Sourced from several vineyards in Alentejo, a wine region in central Portugal. The soil consists of clay and limestone.
The grapes are vinified separately. Fermentation takes place at controlled, low, temperature in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is left to mature for another week on the yeast cells (‘sur lie’) to soften the wine and add more complexity. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected to use only the best quality.
Quinta do Carmo is a renowned winery in the Alentejo region of Portugal. The vineyard has a rich history dating back to the 17th century and has developed into a producer of high-quality wines. In 1988, Quinta do Carmo entered into a joint venture with the Lafite Rothschild family, leading to a fusion of French expertise and Portuguese tradition. Quinta do Carmo’s white wines, made from Arinto, Antão Vaz and Roupeiro, are known for their freshness, aromatic complexity and the way they reflect the unique characteristics of the Alentejo terroir.
Dom Martinho Branco is a blend of local grape varieties that thrive in Alentejo’s warm climate. This wine is known for its fresh and aromatic character.
Arinto: Known for its high acidity and citrusy aromas, Arinto contributes to the wine’s freshness and liveliness.
Antão Vaz: This grape gives the wine full body and aromas of tropical fruits, such as mango and pineapple.
Roupeiro: Adds floral aromas and notes of peach and apricot to the blend.
