Sourced from several vineyards around the town of Alba in Piedmont, Italy. The vineyards face south or south-east at an altitude of 350-400 metres. The soil is mainly clay and limestone. The vines are approximately 30 years old. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

In the rustic Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of Barolo DOCG, lies the Meriame cru, where Paolo Manzone has planted his Nebbiolo for his main wines. The vineyard dates back to 1948 and some of the vines are up to 70 years old. Manzone has taken inspiration from Burgundy and makes Barolos that are aged in French Burgundy barrels. These are Barolos in a fairly modern style, which matches the accessible and somewhat earthy style of Barolos supplied by the Meriame cru.

The vineyards benefit from a variety of soils and microclimates, which contribute to the complexity and distinctiveness of his wines. Manzone carefully manages his vineyards to ensure the highest quality grapes, using sustainable and organic farming practices wherever possible.

Paolo Manzone’s wines have been praised by wine critics and enthusiasts around the world. His commitment to quality and authenticity has earned him a place among the most respected winemakers in the Langhe region. Manzone’s approach to winemaking not only honours Piedmont’s traditions, but also pushes the boundaries to constantly improve and innovate.
