Bodegas Pastor Díaz is a historic winery in Aldeanueva de Ebro, located in Spain’s famous Rioja wine region.
The Pastor Díaz family has been involved in viticulture, wine production and olive oil production for generations, a tradition that dates back to before the 19th century. Remarkably, the last four generations have all borne the name Gonzalo Pastor.
The winery manages around 120 hectares of vineyards, mainly located on the slopes of Monte Yerga, an area known for its excellent grape-growing conditions.
The vineyards are at altitudes ranging from 450 to 700 metres and benefit from a unique microclimate influenced by Mediterranean, Atlantic and continental climates. This combination creates ideal conditions for vine growth.
Bodegas Pastor Díaz focuses on growing several grape varieties, with a strong emphasis on Tempranillo, which covers about 90 hectares of their vineyards. They also grow Garnacha and Graciano, producing wines that are well suited to ageing due to their high polyphenol content and structure.
The vineyard’s soil types, mainly calcareous clay and alluvial soils, contribute to the distinctive characteristics of their wines.
