Domaine La Grange is located in Gabian, in the heart of Occitania, one of the most diverse wine regions in southern France. This historic estate, situated in the Languedoc area of the Hérault department, is recognised for its long-standing heritage, respect for nature and clear commitment to organic viticulture. With more than two centuries of history, it has become a reference for lovers of authentic, characterful wines from the Languedoc.
The vineyard covers approximately 60 hectares, spread across three ancient volcanoes: Saint-Marthe, Saint-Hilaire and Cadablès. This distinctive location provides a volcanic terroir rich in minerals, ideal for producing wines with tension, freshness and depth. The combination of Mediterranean sunshine, cooling influences from the Cévennes and preserved biodiversity creates optimal conditions for grapes with a pronounced aromatic profile. This natural environment defines the style of the cuvées.
The property was originally founded by the Sabatier family, who managed the vines for several generations and established the foundation of its reputation. In 2008, the Freund family took over the winery and introduced new momentum. Investments were made in modern vinification facilities, infrastructure was upgraded and all parcels were converted to certified organic farming (Ecocert). This transition resulted from a deliberate choice: to protect soils, preserve biodiversity and produce wines that faithfully express their origin.
Today, the estate operates entirely according to organic viticulture principles. The vines are cultivated without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, with strong focus on natural soil balance. The surrounding garrigue, with wild herbs, shrubs and olive trees, contributes to the vitality of the vineyard. This approach allows natural ripening of the grapes while maintaining aromatic intensity and freshness. Some cuvées are vinified without added sulphites, offering an even purer expression of grape and terroir.
The wines stand out for their purity, elegance and precise expression of terroir. Fresh whites, aromatic rosés and structured red blends each reflect rigorous craftsmanship and respect for nature. Volcanic soils provide subtle minerality, lively structure and a long finish. The combination of proven methods and controlled vinification results in wines that are accessible and well suited to gastronomy.
