Vignobles en Fernand Engel a Alsace : Unique origin and terroirThis wine comes from four parcels located in Orschwiller and Saint-Hippolyte, around 20 kilometres from Colmar in the Alsace wine region. The soils, rich in limestone and composed of 15-20% granite, provide ideal conditions for growing grapes. The vines, aged between 15 and 31 years, face due south and east, maximising their exposure to the sun.Grape pressing and vinification in Alsace: a traditional and modern methodThe whole bunches of grapes are pressed simultaneously, ensuring optimum extraction of aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of between 18 and 20°C, ensuring a precise and controlled process. The wine then matures for 8 months on its lees, giving it a creamier texture and greater complexity.Alsace: A Wine Region in Full EvolutionAlsace today is an incredibly dynamic and innovative wine region. With its many terroirs, its emblematic Riesling grape variety, and its pioneering role in organic viticulture, Alsace is establishing itself as an increasingly sought-after wine destination. The tradition of slightly sweet vinification is gradually giving way to entirely dry wines, revealing a purer expression of the grape varieties. This is also the case at Fernand Engel, where modern, refined wines are produced.Top-of-the-range wines from the Fernand Engel cellarThe wines from the Fernand Engel winery are of exceptional quality, and rival those of the best wineries in the Haut-Rhin. By combining modern winemaking techniques with respect for the terroir, these Alsatian wines offer a unique taste experience.
