Finca Luzón Roble: An Exceptional Wine from the Heart of Jumilla

This cuvée is a stunning example of Spanish craftsmanship, reflecting the richness of the Jumilla terroir. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 650 meters, on soils composed of sand, clay, and limestone, creating optimal conditions for producing a powerful and well-balanced red wine.

Careful Vinification and Refined Aging

After a controlled fermentation at 24 to 26°C, the juice remains in contact with the grape skins for an additional 5 to 10 days, allowing for maximum extraction of color and aroma. The wine then matures for three months in French and American oak barrels, enhancing its complexity with subtle notes of vanilla, spices, and ripe fruit.

Jumilla: A Unique Wine Region for Characterful Wines

This renowned wine region in southeastern Spain is famous for its bold and expressive red wines. The dry, continental climate, combined with diverse soil types, provides the perfect conditions for growing Monastrell, the region’s signature grape variety. Other varieties, such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, add finesse and elegance to the blend.

Sustainability and Quality as Core Values

With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, the winery follows sustainable viticulture practices, minimizing its carbon footprint and promoting biodiversity in the vineyards. This dedication to sustainability enhances the authenticity and quality of every bottle.

A Versatile Wine for Every Occasion

Thanks to its refined structure and oak aging, this wine pairs beautifully with grilled meats, aged cheeses, and Mediterranean cuisine. Its balance between power and smoothness makes it an excellent choice for lovers of Spanish wines.

This cuvée perfectly combines tradition and innovation, capturing the essence of Jumilla. Discover an exceptional wine that delights with its aromatic richness and depth.

“Aromas of cassis, dried thyme and sage set the stage for blackberry, cassis, butterscotch and licorice flavors. Surprisingly polished tannins build in volume and fade into a floral-scented finish.”

Region

Murcia, and in particular the region of Jumilla, is a major wine-producing region in Spain, located in the south-east of the country. The region is known for its diverse terroirs and the high-quality wines produced from its indigenous grape varieties.

Characteristics of Jumilla Wines

1. **Main Grape Varieties**:
– **Monastrell (Mourvèdre)**: This is the most common grape in Jumilla and is often used to make powerful, full-bodied red wines. Monastrell produces wines with deep colours, rich flavours and good aging potential.
– **Other Grape Varieties**: Besides Monastrell, other grapes grown include Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon for red wines, and Airén and Verdejo for white wines.

2. **Climate and Terroir**:
– The region has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters. This ensures optimal ripening of the grapes.
– The soil consists of clay, limestone and sand, which contributes to the complexity and minerality of the wines.

3. **Wine styles**:
– **Red Wines**: The red wines from Jumilla are often full-bodied, powerful and rich in aromas such as dark fruits, spices and a hint of earthy notes. Many of these wines undergo wood aging, which adds extra depth and complexity.
– **White Wines**: White wines tend to be fresher and lighter, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. These wines are often meant to be drunk young.
– **Rosé Wines**: Excellent rosé wines are also produced, usually made from Monastrell, which are fresh and fruity.

4. **Denominations and Classification**:
– Jumilla is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in Spain and has had Denominación de Origen (DO) status since 1966. The region has a quantity of small wineries using both traditional and modern wine production methods.

Murcia’s wines, especially those from Jumilla, offer a diverse range of quality wines that are both accessible and gastronomically interesting. The region continues to develop, with a particular focus on sustainability and innovative winemaking techniques, giving rise to exciting new wines.
