The wine estate, whose origins date back to the 13th century, began as a fortified commandery of the Knights Templar. At the time, the estate included a castle and vineyards. Over the centuries, the winery has had several owners, who contributed to the development of the vineyards and wine production. A bastide was built in the 17th century and in the 19th century the current château, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, was added.
